Flying Higher at Ascension Coffee

Ascension Coffee’s new White Rock location officially opened today.

“Tea, though ridiculed by those who are naturally coarse in their nervous sensibilities will always be the favorite beverage of the intellectual.” — Thomas de Quincey

I had to see it for myself.

I wasn’t crazy about the matcha when I visited the Cypress Waters location sometime last year. Still, this new location on Garland Road, Ascension’s seventh location, renovated an 80-year-old East Dallas chapel. I had to see it for myself.

This 2,232 square-foot space was once White Rock Community Chapel.

Bill Schaffler, the president of Ascension Coffee, wanted to respect the history of the space, fighting through supply chain issues to get the lighting and artwork just right. I appreciate that.

The space is gorgeous.

The intimate layout of the tables would make for a great speed dating or networking venue.

Things were a bit chaotic, so I ordered a golden milk latte and blueberry muffin to go.

The brunch orders leaving the kitchen looked delicious, so I plan to return once the dust has settled and the weather is ideal for outdoor dining. If you’re in the area, I’m sure they’d appreciate your support!
